If you've lost weight before and watched it come back, you're not alone, and it isn't a willpower problem. When calories are cut sharply, the body pushes back with more hunger and less energy, which is one reason extreme diets so often fail. We take a slower, steadier route that you can actually live with.
How we help
Your registered dietitian starts with your health history, your current eating patterns and your daily schedule. From there, you build a plan around the foods you already like, with balanced meals that include protein and fiber to keep you full, and a meal rhythm that prevents the afternoon crash and evening overeating.
We also work on the habits around food: hunger and fullness cues, emotional eating, eating out, busy weeks and weekends. Small, specific changes are easier to keep, and each one makes the next one easier.
Judgment-free and weight-inclusive
Weight is one part of the conversation, not the whole of it. Our approach is judgment-free and weight-inclusive: we focus on the habits and health markers you can change, and we never shame you about food or your body. Feeling respected makes it far easier to be honest about what's getting in the way, and that's where real progress starts.
Progress beyond the scale
Weight is one measure of progress. We track the others too: energy, sleep, lab values, how your clothes fit and how you feel about food. We don't promise a number, but we do promise a plan that fits your life and a dietitian who stays with you while you build it.
Virtual or in person
Sessions are available by video call anywhere in Virginia, or in person in the Roanoke Valley and the greater Richmond area.
