About Macie

Your Roanoke dietitian

Macie Fuquay is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist serving the Roanoke Valley with a personalized, relationship-first approach to nutrition counseling. A Roanoke College graduate, she earned her master's degree at Meredith College, completed her Dietetic Internship at Virginia Tech, and has been a registered dietitian since 2019. She works with individuals who are ready to make lasting changes — not follow a temporary diet — and who want a knowledgeable partner to help them get there.

Her sessions are intentionally flexible — held at local libraries, coffee shops, or virtually throughout Virginia — because your circumstances shouldn't be an obstacle to getting the support you need. Macie's approach is built on understanding your actual patterns, your real schedule, and the specific health goals that matter to you.

She works with clients across a range of health concerns including weight management, Type 2 diabetes, elevated cholesterol, women's hormonal health, and general nutrition education for those who simply want to eat better and feel better long-term.

I loved working with Kelsey! She is kind, non-judgmental and knowledgeable. As a newly diagnosed Diabetic, she helped me understand food! I would highly recommend anyone that needs help navigating their food intake to contact her. She truly cares!

Carole S.Roanoke, VA · Diabetes Management

I have been working with Finesse Nutrition for about one and a half years. I have had terrific results. Kelsey is excellent to work with — thoughtful and professional. If you are willing to put in the work, you will have great results.

Robert P.Virtual

I've tried every diet imaginable. This was the first time someone helped me understand why I was struggling, not just handing me a list of foods to avoid.

Common Questions

Questions about seeing a Roanoke dietitian

Where do in-person sessions take place in Roanoke?

We meet at convenient locations throughout the Roanoke Valley — local libraries, coffee shops, and community spaces — to accommodate your schedule and preferred part of town. Contact us to discuss a location that works for you.

What areas near Roanoke does Finesse Nutrition serve?

Finesse Nutrition serves clients throughout the Roanoke Valley including Roanoke, Salem, Vinton, Botetourt County, Cave Spring, Hollins, and Roanoke County. Virtual sessions are available to clients throughout Virginia.

Do I need insurance or a doctor's referral?

We're private pay and are not in-network with any plan, so no referral is needed to book. HSA and FSA funds are generally eligible for a diagnosed condition with a letter of medical necessity from your doctor. We recommend confirming with your plan before your first session.

What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist in Virginia?

In Virginia, both "dietitian" and "nutritionist" are protected titles (Code of Virginia § 54.1-2731). A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) has completed an accredited degree, a supervised internship, and a national board exam, and is credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Our dietitians are Registered Dietitian Nutritionists.

How much does a dietitian cost in Roanoke, VA?

Finesse Nutrition's session rate in Roanoke is $120 for a session of about 60 minutes. The Foundation package (four sessions) is $420. Ongoing monthly support starts at $60/month after the Foundation. We're private pay and are not in-network with any plan.

Can I do virtual sessions if I live outside Roanoke?

Yes. Virtual sessions are available for clients who can't meet in person, provided they reside in Virginia. Contact us to discuss scheduling a virtual session.
