Share Our Details

Give your patient our website or a phone number: (540) 235-5964 for the Roanoke Valley, (804) 363-1203 for the greater Richmond area. We can send printed referral handouts for your office.

Free Intro Call

Your patient starts with a free intro call to talk through their goals and make sure we're the right fit. No commitment, no cost.

Initial Assessment

The first full session, about 60 minutes, covers health history, eating patterns, goals and any relevant lab work. Your patient leaves with a personalized nutrition plan.

Coordinated Care

With your patient's permission, we coordinate with you so nutrition changes complement their medication and treatment plan. We stay within our scope as registered dietitians.

Common Questions

Questions from physicians

Do patients need a referral to book?

No. Patients can book directly by calling either location or requesting a free intro call on our website.

Do you accept insurance?

We're private pay and are not in-network with any plan.

Can patients use HSA or FSA funds?

HSA and FSA funds are generally eligible for nutrition counseling for a diagnosed condition with a letter of medical necessity from the patient's doctor. A letter from you can help your patient use those funds.

Will you change a patient's medication?

No. As registered dietitians, we don't prescribe or change medication; that conversation stays between you and your patient. With their permission, we coordinate with you so nutrition supports the treatment plan.

Where do you see patients?

In person at public meeting spaces around the Roanoke Valley and the greater Richmond area, and by video call anywhere in Virginia. Patients need to live in Virginia.

Who are your dietitians?

Kelsey Shaughnessy, RDN, founded the practice and sees patients in the greater Richmond area. Macie Fuquay, RDN, sees patients in the Roanoke Valley. Both see virtual patients throughout Virginia and are credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Can I send patient information through this website?

Please don't. The form on this page is for your practice's contact details only. To talk about a specific patient, call either location.
